[Remote] INFOSEC/Cybersecurity Specialist (Level 2)

They are seeking an INFOSEC/Cybersecurity Specialist (Level 2) to support the FAA's Cybersecurity Group, focusing on the engineering and implementation of cybersecurity solutions for the National Airspace System. The role involves conducting technical assessments, managing cybersecurity toolsets, and ensuring compliance with federal security standards. Responsibilities • Support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Cybersecurity Group within the NAS Security and Enterprise Operations (NASEO) Directorate. • Contribute to the engineering, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity solutions that protect the National Airspace System (NAS) from evolving threats. • Perform technical cybersecurity assessments, review system security documentation, and support the integration of security requirements into system architectures. • Develop and manage cybersecurity toolsets for asset management and threat modeling. • Safeguard access to sensitive systems and data, and ensure compliance with FAA and federal security standards. • Analyze proposed system changes for potential security impacts, providing recommendations for risk mitigation. • Support the transition of solutions into operational environments. • Prepare risk assessments, technical documentation, and executive-level briefings. • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and operations teams. • Support incident investigation and response activities. Skills • Bachelor’s degree in a related information technology field (may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience) • 15–20 years of experience (Master’s degree may substitute for 3 years; PhD may substitute for 7 years) • Possess any industry-recognized certification relevant to the required work (Security+, CISSP, CISM, etc.) • Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-series and FIPS requirements • Proficiency in enterprise cybersecurity tools, asset management systems, and threat modeling platforms • Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, and implementing security improvements for enterprise systems • Familiarity with configuration management processes • Ability to work both independently and as a technical lead on projects • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required) • Experience working with the FAA ATO • Working knowledge of OMB mandates and federal risk management frameworks • Experience with federal cybersecurity programs or other high-security mission-critical environments • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity practices such as cloud security, Zero Trust, and supply chain risk management • Active SECRET security clearance Benefits • Comprehensive benefits package • Positive working environment • Competitive salary Company Overview • ENSCO, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries, represent a more than $190 million international technology enterprise with 750+ employees headquartered in the Washington, D.C., area.
