The National Director serves as a key advisor and operational leader to the Early Head Start leadership team, overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, managing strategic projects, and ensuring effective communication across the organization, all while prioritizing the high quality delivery of Early Head Start Programs and compliance with federal regulations. This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the Early Head Start leadership team in developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with Bethany’s overall vision and goals; Monitor progress on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Head Start program quality and compliance; Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment across departments and teams; Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Early Head Start Program, including staff management, budget oversight, and facility management; Ensure compliance with all federal Early Head Start regulations and BCS policies; Identify and address operational challenges, proposing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness; Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including Early Head Start governing boards, community partners, and government agencies; Communicate key updates and information regarding Early Head Start programs to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner; Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities to support program engagement; Provide coaching and mentorship to Early Head Start staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development; Lead and develop high performing teams within the Early Head Start program; Identify and recruit top talent to support the Early Head Start programs goals; Monitor and analyze data related to Early Head Start program performance, including student outcomes, staff performance, and compliance metrics; Utilize data insights to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement; Prepare comprehensive reports for leadership and stakeholders on Early Head Start program progress; Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in education, public policy, or a related field; Extensive experience in early childhood education, ideally with deep knowledge of Early Head Start program regulations and best practices; Three plus (3+) years of proven leadership skills with a track record of managing complex operations and teams; Experience leading the end-to-end development and launch of a new program from inception, including strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, resource allocation, and execution, establishing foundational processes and driving measurable impact; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders; Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and reporting; Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in early childhood education; Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany; Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
