Technical Field Sales Representative

About the position Richardson RFPD is looking for an experienced Field Sales Representative to create demand for our suppliers' products used in energy storage and power conversion applications within the Minnesota market. Richardson RFPD, an Arrow Company, is a specialized electronic component distributor providing design engineers with deep technical expertise and localized global design support for the latest new products from the world's leading suppliers of RF, Wireless, IoT and Power Technologies. Responsibilities • Build & maintain influential relationships with customers, suppliers and Richardson RFPD partners in energy storage and power conversion applications. • Create demand for our suppliers' active, passive and thermal products utilized in multiple power electronics topologies. • Drive/create new opportunities and product selection within accounts. • Utilize distribution/rep/supplier knowledge to grow market share and sales. • Initiate and schedule regular visits to customer facilities driving new design opportunities and revenue. • Execute on solution selling through a working knowledge of Richardson RFPD's supply chain solutions and design processes. • Stay current on power electronics product knowledge and/or gain technical certifications. • Attend supplier training events to keep up-to-date on product line. • Maintain supplier databases and keep design registration information accurate. • Guide others in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures. • Train/mentor junior staff. Requirements • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related power electronics sales/field applications experience with a 4-year degree. • Detailed working experience pertaining to high power components including IGBTs, MOSFETs, electrolytic/film capacitors, supercapacitors and thermal management products. • Must have a strong understanding of the territory you will be working in. • Experience in a sales environment, component supplier or distribution channel, preferred. • Must have working industry knowledge. • Must have a drive to succeed. Nice-to-haves • Silicon Carbide and GaN power semiconductor experience. • Strong knowledge of renewable energy, transportation and industrial markets. • Knowledge of established customers in Central or Eastern U.S. • Sales experience with a Distributor or Power Electronics Component manufacturer. • Manufacturers Rep experience.
