Role Overview: We are seeking a high-caliber and experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our team. The candidate will focus primarily on identifying and resolving critical application stability and scalability challenges. This role requires deep expertise in Ruby on Rails with a strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and identify bottlenecks related to application instability and scalability issues. Provide technical solutions and strategies to address bot attacks, application failures, and monitoring gaps. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize critical workflows impacting system performance. Lead efforts in improving infrastructure monitoring and alerting — working closely with tools like Datadog. Develop and maintain robust Ruby on Rails microservices and APIs to enhance platform stability. Implement fault tolerance mechanisms, including auto-restart scripts and failover processes. Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and best practices. Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team. Assist in new feature development alongside production issue resolution. Required Skills and Experience: 10 to 15 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development. Strong knowledge of Ruby on Rails and experience with Sinatra. Proven experience working with microservices-based architectures. Familiarity with Kafka, ZooKeeper, and Thrift or similar messaging/streaming platforms. Hands-on experience with SOLR for search and AWS services (especially AWS SQS, hosting, and cloud infrastructure). Experience with security practices including bot mitigation (e.g., Cloudflare or similar). Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring tools, preferably Datadog. Strong debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills. Experience working in agile development environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
