The Role: Driving Preconstruction Success As a Senior Preconstruction Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing preconstruction engineering activities to improve project delivery, influencing outcomes between design, engineering, and construction operations. Your expertise will ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders, managing risks, quality, and delivery to meet project goals. Key Responsibilities Preconstruction Engineering: Coordinate and carry out preconstruction engineering activities, including scheduling, estimating, bidding, design, and engineering. Oversee and facilitate design-related tasks, such as reviews, reports, studies, and construction administration. Actively participate in preconstruction and design meetings, preparing meeting minutes and notes in a timely manner. Apply activities to meet the demands of different project delivery methods. Coordinate work with other Harris teams to facilitate preconstruction engineering tasks. Execution and Delivery: Track, manage, and communicate project scope, schedule impacts, change orders, and budget trends on projects with direct involvement. Monitor and report on preconstruction concepts to measure and verify the value of Precon activities and recommendations. Collaborate with the delivery of preconstruction briefings to construction teams. Support project managers throughout the build phase on Precon elements, such as risk management and value engineering findings. Developing Preconstruction Skills: Support Harris teams in understanding preconstruction engineering processes for best project delivery. Culture and Miscellaneous: Consistently demonstrate the desired Harris culture, emphasizing a strong safety culture, collaboration, teamwork, and transparency. Perform additional assignments as directed by your supervisor. What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred). 6+ years of industry knowledge in mechanical and plumbing. 4+ years of knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies, and construction contracts. 6+ years of proficient understanding of engineering and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment. 4+ years of previous success in delivering pre-construction engineering solutions. Essential skills include: Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc. Ability to perform quantity studies, constructability studies, clash detection, reviews, and value engineering exercises. Strong communication and project management skills. Our competitive salary range for this role is $67,852-$101,779 per year, with the actual salary offer varying based on factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
