Senior Manager, Staff Software Engineering – Multi-Cloud Networking

Description: • Lead GEICO’s Hybrid Cloud Fabric team focused on securing and connecting public and private cloud infrastructure in a cloud-native zero trust model • Manage, mentor, and expand a team of Staff, Senior and Junior engineers and provide code reviews and technical guidance • Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Network Engineering, Security and customer teams across GEICO • Set goals, hold team accountable for delivery, and coach progress toward long-term goals • Occasionally write code and contribute to open-source community; enable workloads to cross provider and regional boundaries using SPIRE/SPIFFE, Istio/Envoy, Cilium, eBPF Requirements: • 5+ years of engineering management experience in the networking or security domains • 5+ years as an individual contributor in the networking or security domains • Competency in Go, C++ or Rust programming • Experience with the OSI networking model, TCP/IP networking, and categorical knowledge of Layer 4 – Layer 7 networking • Familiarity with Kubernetes internals; experience running and operating software on Kubernetes • Great communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities Benefits: • Comprehensive Total Rewards program that offers personalized coverage tailor-made for you and your family’s overall well-being. • Financial benefits including market-competitive compensation; a 401K savings plan vested from day one that offers a 6% match; performance and recognition-based incentives; and tuition assistance. • Access to additional benefits like mental healthcare as well as fertility and adoption assistance. • Supports flexibility- We provide workplace flexibility as well as our GEICO Flex program, which offers the ability to work from anywhere in the US for up to four weeks per year.
