Position: Research Analyst IVLocation: Remote with occasional onsite meetings at FDA office in 1 Iberville Drive, Dauphin Island, AL, 36528Position Type: ContractWork Authorization: USCClearance: SecretEducation:Master s degree in pharmacy or related field (e.g., biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences) (6+ years experience)ExperienceAnalyse food and environmental samples for extraction and detection enteric pathogens. Proficient understanding of or experience using real-time PCR instrumentation. Experience using Sanger sequencing and next generation sequencing platforms. Ability to utilize aseptic techniques when performing molecular based methods. Experience with metagenomics or next-generation sequencing is mandatory. Responsibilities:In general, work complexity and responsibility will be greater at higher levels. Participates in research and development activities. Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data. Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Laboratory analyses to develop, optimize, and/or validate methods for the identification of pathogens in seafood.
