Overview We are seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Return Reviewer (CPA or EA) to support our tax team from January through mid-April. The ideal contractor will have deep experience reviewing both individual and business tax returns, providing clear review notes, and ensuring accuracy and compliance. This is a review-only role—no preparation or client communication required. Our admin team handles intake, scanning, workpaper organization, autoflow, and assembly, allowing you to focus entirely on review quality and timely turnaround. Responsibilities • Review prepared federal and state tax returns for individuals, S corporations, partnerships, and trusts. • Verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current tax laws. • Provide concise, actionable review notes to preparers. • Identify tax-saving opportunities or missing information when applicable. • Meet agreed-upon deadlines and maintain consistent communication with the internal team. • Uphold Elevated’s quality standards and client-first mindset. Qualifications • Active CPA or EA required. • 5+ years of experience reviewing both individual and business returns in public accounting. • Strong working knowledge of depreciation, passthrough taxation, basis, contractor-related expenses, and small-business tax issues. • Experience with CCH Axcess preferred but not required. • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong written communication skills to convey review findings clearly.
