Together, let’s embrace possibilities and change lives!Pre Authorization Specialist payers as a condition of payment for services provided. The Pre Authorization Specialist reviews medical policies, completes benefit investigations, initiates prior authorizations, provides cost estimates to patients, communicates outcomes with stakeholders, identifies trends, escalates issues, and performs other billing related tasks. This is a first shift remote/work-from-home position with some flexibility in hours.RESPONSIBILITIES: • Research/review medical policies via Policy Reporter, payer websites, etc• Contact health plans to verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage• Prepare and deliver patient cost estimates• Initiate prior authorization with health plans• Manage correspondence from clients, patients, and health plans• Clearly and accurately document activities related to prior authorization in prior authorization platform• Request missing information from patients and/or clients and follow up on requests• Prioritize workload based on urgency of requests• Provide status updates from payers on prior authorization requests• Other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher preferred• Minimum 2 years combined of the following: experience with insurance claims, pre-authorization, and medical benefits required• Two years prior Labcorp work experience with LCLS and/or LCBS experience strongly preferred• Previous RCM experience preferred• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferredOTHER desired skills:• Effective customer relations and time management skills necessary• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Basic math skills (add, subtract, divide, multiply) Application window closes: 09/03/2025Pay Range: $15.50-$18.50 Per hour Schedule/Shift: M-F, 8am-5pm EST All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
