Platform Engineer / Technician

Utilizing an iterative development approach to aircraft, Hermeus’ high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft aim to deliver capabilities at a pace not seen in the U.S. since the 1950s. We are currently seeking a motivated Platform Engineer/Technician to join the Mission Systems Engineering team at Hermeus! Responsibilities Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Ground Control Stations. Install, configure, and maintain flight critical IT systems, communication tools, and mission-enhancing hardware/software. Install, configure, and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs). Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mission systems. Basic Qualifications Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance. Technician: 5+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance. Proficient with common avionics/RF tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, spectrum analyzers, cannon-plug tools, oscilloscopes, etc. Proficient in basic electronics maintenance and repair. Proficient in the soldering of RF coaxial connectors. Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as Ethernet, switches, routers, and servers. Familiarity with command-and-control concepts, strong problem-solving and diagnostics ability, and a team-first mentality. Comfortable reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and working with electronics. Proficient in building aerospace-grade cable/harness assemblies (D38999 and similar) Ability and desire to travel for several weeks at a time to work on-location with the Ground Control Station at various military bases and airports. Able to lift heavy gear and thrive in hands-on environments. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift for installing/maintaining/troubleshooting RF hardware. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and associated Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Preferred Qualifications 10+ years' experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex aerospace RF/SATCOM/IT systems. Proficiency in Linux. Proficient in basic computer networking. Prior experience maintaining operational RPA GCS’s. Certifications such as CCNA and Security+.
