About the Role As a Patient Care Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive comprehensive care that addresses their psychiatric and physical needs. You'll work closely with our healthcare team to provide personalized support, guidance, and education to patients and their families. Key Responsibilities Provide assistance and care to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met. Gather and report observational data, monitoring patient conditions and reporting concerns to the healthcare team. Develop trusting relationships with patients, their families, and healthcare providers through effective communication and empathy. Assist patients with daily living activities, such as eating, bathing, and movement. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures. Collaborate with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. Prioritize assignments, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with interruptions. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) to document patient information and communicate with the healthcare team. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience. Department-specific certification and licensure, including Kahi-Child & Adolescence Services and CAN-Child Abuse & Neglect. Knowledge of mental health principles, views, and equipment used in treating patients with various disorders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences. Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures. General knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR). Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications can enhance your candidacy: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in mental health or a related field. Additional certifications or training in mental health or a related field. Experience working with diverse patient populations and families.
