Title: Network API SpecialistLocation: Remote(USA) Client :VerizonJob Description:Collaborate with product managers, network architects, and engineering teams to define and capture detailed product requirements for new network APIs, ensuring feasibility and alignment with existing and planned infrastructure. Translate complex telco network functionalities into clear, concise, and actionable API specifications, considering the impact on network elements and configurations. Experience connecting different services and systems across organizations. Design API functionalities for emerging network products such as Quality on Demand and Network Slicing, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices, and a clear understanding of the network infrastructure needed for implementation. Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for API-driven network services, with an emphasis on how these services can be technically realized within the network. Develop use cases and user stories to guide the development of network APIs, including detailed considerations for network resource allocation and configuration. Work closely with development teams to ensure proper implementation and testing of API functionalities, providing expertise on network behavior and performance. Provide technical guidance and support for the integration and consumption of network APIs by internal and external developers, bridging the gap between API consumers and network capabilities. Contribute to the overall API strategy and roadmap for network capabilities, with a strong focus on infrastructure evolution and network programmability. Participate in industry forums and working groups related to network APIs and programmable networks, representing expertise in both API design and network infrastructure. Job Responsibilities:7+ years of experience in telecommunications, with a strong focus on core network architecture, operations, and services, and a deep understanding of network infrastructure components. Demonstrable expertise in API design principles (RESTful, OpenAPI/Swagger, etc.) and best practices, coupled with a strong understanding of how APIs interact with network elements. In-depth knowledge of telco network technologies, including 5G, LTE, core networks, access networks, transport networks, and relevant protocols, with an ability to diagnose and understand network behavior. Experience in defining product requirements for software solutions, preferably in an agile development environment, with a strong emphasis on infrastructure readiness. Expert understanding of network slicing concepts, orchestration, and management, including the underlying network topology and resource allocation. Familiarity with Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms and their application in network APIs, and how these impact network performance. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex network concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, with a hands-on approach to understanding network infrastructure.
