The Lead, Data Governance will oversee the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of enterprise data, ensuring that organizational data assets meet the highest quality standards. This role is pivotal in defining and implementing data governance policies, driving proactive data quality initiatives, and mentoring teams to foster a culture of data excellence. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to identify data quality issues, recommend solutions, and ensure effective remediation. The position combines hands-on technical work with strategic oversight, offering the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data governance practices while impacting critical business processes. Strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and exceptional communication are essential for success in this dynamic environment. Accountabilities Lead and execute data governance initiatives across multiple business units, collaborating with data engineers, scientists, and stakeholders. Develop and maintain data dictionaries, lineage, and profiles to ensure transparency and consistency. Conduct in-depth analysis to diagnose and resolve complex data quality issues, providing actionable insights and recommendations. Mentor and guide data quality analysts, serving as a subject matter expert and promoting best practices across the organization. Design, implement, and automate data control frameworks using AI and advanced techniques to prevent quality issues proactively. Manage issue tracking from detection to resolution, ensuring proper root cause analysis and remediation with cross-functional teams. Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and workflows to enhance data governance practices. Communicate data changes, risks, and progress effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus. 10+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, and analytics. Strong practical knowledge of data quality management, data governance frameworks, and enterprise data ecosystems (e.g., SFDC, Workday, NetSuite). Proficiency in SQL for data querying, analysis, and manipulation. Hands-on experience with Snowflake and familiarity with Quote-to-Cash processes. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to distill complex data findings into actionable recommendations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience leveraging AI or machine learning tools to automate data quality monitoring. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments across multiple time zones. Preferred: certifications in data management (CDMP), experience with Python scripting, data visualization tools (Tableau), and knowledge of multiple data domains (billing, contracts, finance).
