Genetic Counselor Assistant - Invitae

The Clinical Consultation Services of Invitae (a Labcorp company) is seeking a Genetic Counselor Assistant (GCA) to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity to provide support to our lab-based Genetic Counseling team in various areas including: client services, order review, and client education. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. This position will be supporting Invitae's genetics laboratory. The GCA will spend about 80% of their time on the phone, speaking to clinicians and clients.The schedule for the position will be: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm eastern time zone.Note: this is a fully remote position. Candidates can be located anywhere in the US, however, they must be able to work eastern time zone hours.Responsibilities:Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that order testing performed at InvitaeRespond to telephone and email inquiries from Invitae/Labcorp clients, health care providers, and patientsReview orders for clinical appropriateness and perform outreach as necessaryContact clients to obtain pertinent clinical information and communicates with clients throughout the testing processParticipate in or take leadership of particular operations and development projects as required Requirements:Bachelors degree in a biological life scienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office suiteStrong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectivelyStrong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quicklyExcellent project management skillsAbility to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendationsPreferred Requirements: Previous experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant Experience in a CLIA diagnostic laboratory and familiarity with next-generation sequencing and clinical genetics testingPrevious experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician's officePrevious Customer Service experienceFamiliarity with genetics conceptsExperience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Application Window Closes: 12/23/25Pay Range: $25.50-$33.00 / hourAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
