Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst will prepare complex financial reports, maintain internal management reports, and assist in budget development and variance analysis to support effective management decision-making. Responsibilities Prepare, distribute comprehensive reporting templates to the business lines for the monthly, quarterly and annual planning processes (Key performance Indicators, Quarterly Financial Review and supporting documents) Analyze information reported by the business units Consolidate business unit data, explain variance and draft commentaries Prepare reporting packages presented in finance meetings Validate Supplementary Financial Information prior to release Compile rating agency surveys and Year-end Regulatory Reporting Prepare ad-hoc analysis as required Skills University degree with major in Accounting or Finance 1-2 years financial analysis/accounting work experience Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, organize and report information Strong MS Office and excellent Excel skills Must be detail-oriented, well-organized with good communication skills Ability to multi-task and work under pressure during critical reporting periods Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide As a condition of the role, the successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada Reliability status security clearance through Sun Life in advance of the start date Pursuit of CPA designation an asset Working knowledge of MS Access Experience in a diverse system environment, including accounting systems such as SAP and mainframe applications Knowledge of financial services industry and/or insurance business processes and products Benefits Flexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your family Company Overview La Financière Sun Life est une organisation de services financiers de premier plan qui aide ses clients à atteindre la sécurité financière à toutes les étapes de leur vie.
