Job Summary We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Customer Service Representative to work in our Healthcare Systems and Services industry. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, obtaining patient information, verifying insurance eligibility, and scheduling appointments. Key Responsibilities Patient Information Management: Obtain current patient information from established and new patients, enter and update accurately patient information in scheduling system, and identify payer source and verify insurance eligibility. Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and reschedule appointments as needed, review Scheduling System for needed updated demographics and consent forms, and identify patients by date of birth and name in computer system. Customer Service: Demonstrate superior customer service skills, answer telephone in a timely and polite manner, communicate with customers in a courteous, professional, cooperative, and mature manner, and take messages and convey accurate information to recipient. Patient Confidentiality: Protect and observe patient confidentiality per policies and procedures. Electronic Health Records: Import registration documents into patient’s electronic health record. Accounts Receivable: Follow up on outstanding A/R all payers, including self-pay, and resolve denials. Insurance and Patient Accounts: Handle all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contact insurance carriers, patients, and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability. EDI Transactions and ERA Files: Work EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits, and rejection reports. Essential Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Experience: 1-2 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field; experience with electronic health records and scheduling systems is highly desirable. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Technical Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and scheduling systems; experience with EDI transactions and ERA files is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Certifications: Certification in healthcare administration, customer service, or a related field is preferred. Experience with Healthcare Systems: Experience working with healthcare systems, including electronic health records and scheduling systems, is highly desirable. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data and identify trends, is a plus.
