We're now seeking an experienced Policy Lead to join our Global Policy and Standards team, focusing on monetized products and digital advertising. About the Role As a Policy Lead, you will play a critical role in developing, launching, and implementing fair and consistent policies that protect the online safety of our users. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including engineers, sales managers, and attorneys, to reach consensus on policy issues and drive awareness of user-focused product policies. Your expertise in analyzing and managing risk, particularly around advertisements for heavily regulated products, will be essential in this role. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Managers, Trust and Safety, and Engineering to shape product development, prioritize user experience, and ensure ads provide transparency, choice, and control. Drive awareness and understanding of user-focused product policies both internally and externally, and educate on fundamental principles related to regulated industries, consumer protection, and privacy. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies for Google products, balancing risk management, user safety, product quality, and privacy. Advance conversations around best practices in digital content policy and share insights from policy reviews with internal stakeholders. Resolve high-profile policy escalations from users and internal teams. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. At least 2 years of experience in a policy, legal, Trust and Safety, or technology environment. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: A JD, MBA, or Master's degree. Experience with the development, implementation, and maintenance of policy. Experience in digital ad sales or support. Understanding of the digital advertising landscape. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000-$150,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
