Key Responsibilities As a Pharmacy Technician and Data Entry Specialist, your key responsibilities will include: Assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, according to state and federal regulations Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions Assisting with and coaching pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers Modeling and providing a unique and delightful customer experience Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products Resolving customer issues and answering inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience Developing strong relationships with most valuable customers Performing duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow Reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhering to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential and preferred qualifications: Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) Preferred: six months of experience in a retail environment Preferred: previous work experience with Walgreens Preferred: desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications Preferred: good computer skills Preferred: knowledge of store inventory control Preferred: PTCB certification Skill and Competencies Required To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Basic math skills and attention to detail Good computer skills and ability to learn new systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong customer service skills and ability to provide a unique and delightful customer experience Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Walgreens, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
