As a Pharmacist - RPh, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and quality of medication orders for pets, while also leading and developing our pharmacy team. About the Role: Key Responsibilities and Expectations As a Pharmacist at Chewy, you'll be responsible for interpreting and verifying medication orders, reviewing prescriber orders for potential issues, and communicating effectively with veterinarians, their staff, and pet parents. Your expertise and leadership skills will be essential in overseeing and directing pharmacy technicians and interns, maintaining necessary records, and upholding operational standards. Some of your key responsibilities will include: Accurate Medication Order Processing: Interpret and verify medication orders to ensure accuracy and safety. Prescriber Order Review: Review prescriber medication orders to identify potential issues such as dosing errors, contraindications, and drug interactions. Effective Communication: Communicate with veterinarians, their staff, and pet parents to ensure that all parties are informed and that the best care is provided. Team Leadership: Oversee and direct pharmacy technicians and interns, providing ongoing training and coaching to enhance their skills and performance. Record Keeping and Compliance: Maintain necessary records to comply with Federal and State legal requirements, as well as adhere to pharmacy policies. Operational Excellence: Uphold operational standards, including performance metrics, safety, and compliance. Flexibility and Adaptability: Perform related duties and assignments as directed by management, which may include travel as needed. Essential Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Pharmacy Degree: A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (RPh) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution. Active Pharmacy License: An active pharmacy license in the state of Kentucky in good standing, along with other required states and credentials. Strong Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional care. Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead a team effectively, with strong coaching and development skills. Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including evenings, holidays, and weekends. Nice-to-Haves: Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: Experience in Veterinary Pharmacy: Previous experience working in a veterinary pharmacy or a related field. Knowledge of Pharmacy Software: Familiarity with pharmacy software and technology, including electronic health records and pharmacy management systems. Certifications and Training: Additional certifications or training in areas such as pharmacy management, leadership, or a related field.
