Job Summary As a Customer Service Agent, you will be the face of Southwest Airlines, extending hospitality to our customers at the ticket counter, baggage service office, and gate area. Your role is crucial in setting a positive tone for our customers' travel experience. Key Responsibilities Provide legendary customer service to internal and external customers, ensuring a positive and memorable experience. Operate a computerized point-of-sale system, handling ticketing, check-in, boarding, baggage service, and reservations. Resolve customer complaints and problems in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Handle cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment, computing charges, making change, and balancing daily transactions. Check in baggage and cargo, answering telephone calls, providing information to customers, and resolving issues as needed. Complete forms and reports as required, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company procedures. Write irregularity and complaint reports as necessary, ensuring that all issues are documented and addressed. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Ability to type and use a computer keyboard with sufficient speed to meet the demands of the job. Able to read documents, follow instructions, learn and understand ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations. Ability to work well with others as part of a team, meet the public, and work under stressful situations. Must be able to satisfactorily complete the Customer Service Agent training program with an 80% or greater average and an evaluation period. Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies as needed. Must work under tight time constraints to accomplish quick turns of aircraft. Must present a well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Ground Operations Employee Handbook and Labor Agreement. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in customer service, aviation, or a related field. Foreign language skills, which can be an asset in communicating with diverse customers. Ability to work shift work and/or overtime, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
