Job Summary As a General Production team member on the 3rd shift, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing process, working together with our team to deliver high-quality products to our customers. Key Responsibilities Handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver high-quality products Perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength, and stamina Work in a fast-paced environment, adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals and ensure efficient operations Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions Physical ability to perform tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms Ability to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift Willingness to work in a cold and/or warm environment (approximately 20-40 degrees and/or over 100 degrees) Ability to work in a wet and humid environment Physical ability to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms Ability to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift Physical ability to walk long distances Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and perform repetitive overhead lifting What We Offer Compensation and Benefits: Competitive starting pay: $17.65/hour $0.50/hour shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift positions Comprehensive health insurance Retirement benefits Education benefit available to full- and part-time Smithfield team members on their first day of employment Career Growth and Professional Development: Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth Tuition assistance and tuition reimbursement programs Partnership with Guild Education to provide upfront tuition assistance and funding for degree and certificate programs Work Environment and Culture: Dynamic and supportive work environment Opportunities for team-building and social activities Commitment to workplace diversity and inclusion How to Apply If you're a motivated individual looking for a challenging and rewarding career, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
