Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Applied Technologies Department as a Full Time Tenure Track Faculty member. The successful candidate will bring expertise in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) to our team and will be responsible for teaching courses, developing new educational materials, and participating in departmental and institutional functions. Key Responsibilities Teach courses in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning program, including Refrigeration Systems, Heating Systems, Heat Pumps, Electrical Theory and Practicum, and HVAC Physics Develop and implement innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learning and student engagement Prepare lesson plans, create instructional materials, and establish a supportive classroom environment Evaluate student performance, maintain student records, and provide academic advising and mentoring Participate in departmental and institutional functions, including committee work and professional development activities Collaborate with external companies and enrolled students in Co-op experience courses Assist with curriculum review and assessment, and contribute to the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projects Essential Qualifications Earned associate's degree or higher in HVAC/R (or related field) from a regionally-accredited higher education institution with 5 years' experience; or possess a Journeyman's card/certificate from a formal Apprenticeship Program; or a minimum of 10 years' experience in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning Industry Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, repair, and service HVAC systems commonly encountered in a variety of HVAC field applications EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration License Ability to teach courses in the Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning program Commitment to supporting an inclusive campus environment and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs Evidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college Evidence of proficiency with technology and effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skills Preferred Qualifications Earned bachelor's or master's degree in related field and/or education from a regionally accredited higher education institution College-level teaching experience Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies Awareness of the potential value of technology as a tool for teaching Experience with computerized student record management Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages, proficiently Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of HVAC/R principles, practices, and technologies Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends and technologies Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a faculty member at Monroe Community College, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities and learning benefits, including: Professional development workshops and training programs Mentorship and coaching from experienced faculty members Opportunities for advancement and leadership development Access to cutting-edge technologies and resources A collaborative and supportive work environment Work Environment and Company Culture Monroe Community College is committed to creating a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits Monroe Community College offers a competitive salary range of $45,000 to $63,000, based on experience, internal equity, and college budget.
