Job Responsibilities As a Data Center Operations Technician, your primary responsibilities will include: Installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting hardware and server software Configuring and troubleshooting Linux OS-associated issues on servers Deploying and maintaining Google's advanced data center server and network infrastructure Participating in or leading troubleshooting and resolving critical or escalated technical issues Testing and troubleshooting new server hardware components and designs Collaborating and partnering with people and teams to overcome problems Contributing and leading efforts/tasks in the deployment, maintenance, and support of modern and new data center infrastructure Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience troubleshooting hardware or community-associated troubles using Linux-based tools Experience in hardware, networking equipment, operating systems, and data center operations A high school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will have: Experience working in a data center or network operation center environment Experience with light coding or scripting Experience with networking protocols Ability to collaborate and partner with people and teams to overcome problems Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong technical skills, including experience with Linux-based tools and hardware troubleshooting Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Google, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
