As a Data Center Infrastructure Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the maintenance and upkeep of Target's enterprise data centers, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of their operations. Key Responsibilities Act as an escalation point for incident management related to power and cooling infrastructure, providing expert guidance and support to resolve complex issues. Develop and implement functional procedures for staff and vendor maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and Target's standards. Schedule, track, and provide oversight for vendor maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective execution. Establish and maintain data center best practices and standards, driving continuous improvement and optimization. Identify training needs and provide instruction to team members, enhancing their skills and knowledge in data center infrastructure management. Cover open positions when professional schedules cannot be filled, ensuring continuity of operations. Analyze data center reliability trends and risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues and improve overall reliability. Support issue management to help resolve equipment, operational, and application issues related to power and cooling hardware. Assist with Data Center Capacity Management, ensuring alignment with business needs and growth objectives. Contribute to development activities, ensuring that structural and functional requirements are met and that solutions are designed with scalability and reliability in mind. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science) or equivalent experience. Comprehensive work experience in environments containing electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and UPS systems. In-depth knowledge of advanced engineering technical approaches in design, manufacture, testing, and troubleshooting issues as required by the domain. The ability to maintain technical knowledge within subject matter areas and stay current with new and evolving technologies through formal training and self-directed education. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working in a data center environment, with a focus on infrastructure design, maintenance, and operations. Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for data center infrastructure, such as those related to power, cooling, and network architecture. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
