About the Role: Intern, Flight School - Flight Operations In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be working closely with our Flight Operations team to achieve divisional goals and contribute to the overall success of Delta Air Lines. As a Flight Operations (Flight School) intern, you will be assigned to a specific team, such as Training and Standards, Line Operations, or the Chief Pilot Office, where you will be responsible for assisting with various projects and tasks. You will also have the opportunity to learn about other departments, including Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, In-Flight Service, and Airport Customer Service. Key Responsibilities: Assist in achieving divisional goals and contributing to the overall success of Delta Air Lines Work with a specific team, such as Training and Standards, Line Operations, or the Chief Pilot Office, to complete individual duties and team assignments Present a team assignment to Flight Operations Leadership at the end of the semester Learn about other departments, including Flight Safety, Operations Customer Center, Technical Operations, In-Flight Service, and Airport Customer Service Develop a comprehensive understanding of the aviation industry and the role of Flight Operations in achieving business objectives What You Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a unique combination of skills, knowledge, and personal qualities. These include: Essential Qualifications: Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles, and consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data Possess excellent communication skills, be able to process complicated issues quickly, and maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information Have a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms PowerPoint, and Smartsheet Demonstrate competency in skills that include, but are not limited to, managing and working training equipment, the collection and analysis of flight planning data, reading and summarizing new regulations, and the ability to quickly relate to the advanced jet environment Preferred Qualifications: Have a competitive GPA and be in good academic standing with your university Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with an aviation discipline Have a minimum of 150 total flight hours required, and be actively pursuing either a Commercial Pilot Certificate or a Certified Flight Instructor Certificate (CFI) Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Technical Skills: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Forms PowerPoint, and Smartsheet Flight planning data collection and analysis Regulatory compliance and awareness Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Air Lines, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
