About the Role We are looking for a skilled and passionate educator to fill the position of Fourth Grade Classroom Teacher - 1.0 FTE Long-term Substitute at Jefferson Elementary School. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons to fourth-grade students, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of a diverse student body. Collaborate with the grade-level team, special education team, and specialists to develop and implement instructional strategies that promote student learning and achievement. Use the Responsive Classroom approach consistently, conducting regular class meetings, supportive exchanges, and clear expectations to foster a positive and respectful learning environment. Assess student progress and understanding, using a range of assessment tools and strategies to inform instruction and adjust teaching practices as needed. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and involving them in the educational process through regular updates and conferences. Support and follow School Board policies and procedures, contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: A valid teaching license in Elementary Education from the State of Minnesota. A strong understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment methods, with the ability to apply these in a practical and effective manner. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
