Engineer II - Network Software for Hybrid Cloud (REMOTE)

About the position Responsibilities • Build quality SDN software stack and solutions for Data Center and Hybrid Multi-Cloud environments. • Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex network problems. • Work with cross-functional teams, including storage and data engineers, developers, and cloud architects, to create high-performance network solutions. • Provide technical leadership and support related to SDN, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues to ensure high availability and performance. • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices. • Mentor junior team members on cloud infrastructure and best practices in network system management. Requirements • 2+ years of professional software development experience. • 2+ years of experience with systems architecture and design. • 2+ years of experience working with hyper scale cloud provider solutions. • Excellent coding skills and ability to design, develop, test, and operate in a cross-functional team environment. • Good understanding of Software-Defined network architectures and solutions, including open source SONiC and traditional network protocols like BGP. • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and their interaction with storage infrastructures. • Solid knowledge of network protocols and forwarding for switches, with experience in hardware programming. • Strong understanding of Software-defined network infrastructure for Hybrid Cloud environments. • Experience with SDN Controllers such as ONOS SD-Fabric. • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, GoLang. • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and troubleshooting skills. Nice-to-haves • Experience with Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes.
