Job Description: Document Review Manager Position Summary: Right Discovery is seeking a Document Review Manager. As a Document Review Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing and managing all aspects of document review projects. Your expertise in discovery strategies, best practices, and advanced technologies will be essential in supporting our strategic clients. You will lead teams of contract attorney document reviewers, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and defensible review of documents in large litigation and regulatory matters. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: • Serve as the primary point of contact for counsel and clients, providing regular updates on review status, metrics, budget projections, and overturn rates. • Develop and implement document review workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency across various review phases (first pass, quality control, second-level, privilege logging, and redactions). • Analyze large data volumes and recommend innovative strategies to cull down review sets and target key documents. • Lead and manage teams of reviewers, including first-pass, quality control, team leads, assistant review managers, and other remote and possibly on-site team members. Quality Control and Optimization: • Create, run, and optimize quality control (QC) and validation searches to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the review. • Design targeted search queries for coding remediation, addressing inconsistencies in coding. • Organize QC efforts to maintain review quality. • Draft privilege logs and breach notification lists. Review Process Oversight: • Conduct time and productivity audits, approve reviewer time entries, and evaluate reviewer performance. • Train and provide feedback to reviewers, ensuring they adhere to review protocols, instructions, and directions. • Review and optimize review workspace design. Client and Counsel Collaboration: • Consult with clients and counsel to develop and implement review strategies that meet project-specific requirements. • Recommend and drive best practices in review, collaborating with other teams where necessary. • Lead discussions with clients and counsel, addressing competing priorities and key stakeholders with different focus areas. • Engage with sales and client success teams. Budgeting and Reporting: • Design project budgets in collaboration with analytics teams. • Serve as an escalation point for reviewers, ensuring they meet throughput goals and deliver high-quality results. • Provide client-specific subject matter expertise on complex, multi-jurisdictional matters. Qualifications and Education Requirements: • JD required, with active admission and good standing in any US jurisdiction; litigation practice experience is advantageous. • A flexible schedule is essential, as late-night and weekend work may be required. • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing eDiscovery projects, with a progressive increase in responsibilities. • Advanced knowledge and experience with document review platforms and technologies, primarily Relativity. • Familiarity with structural and conceptual analytics, including TAR 1.0, CAL, and threading. • Comprehensive understanding of the entire EDRM process from data collection to production. • Extensive experience in privilege logging drafting and data breach review and notification list drafting. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage time and resources effectively. • Proficiency in project management, basic statistics, and Microsoft Excel. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Duties are primarily performed in a typical office environment, requiring desk and computer work. Additional Information: Opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic work environment. PLEASE NOTE: these are 1099 Independent Contractor employment offerings. You will be paid as a 1099 self-employed contractor rather than as an employee. Right Discovery will not withhold any taxes and will not issue you a W-2. You are responsible for handling your own local, state and Federal taxes. Apply tot his job
