Disney Experiences (DX) is experiencing unprecedented expansion, requiring diverse and innovative digital marketing strategies and activations. The proliferation of digital platforms, streaming services, social media, introduction of generative AI, and changing consumer habits have created a fertile ground for engaging audiences in new ways. As a result, DX is looking for a Director of Social Media to capitalize on the opportunities in and adjacent to paid, organic, and influencer/affiliate media. Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Media & Activation, you will lead our Social media practice and teams across Disney Experiences. In this executive role, you will lead a team of 30+ members responsible for building and executing Social Media strategies that support the growth of our Disney Experiences businesses. Your teams will manage all paid and organic activity across approximately 100 accounts/handles on platforms such as Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, X, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and others. You will also co-develop strategies for Social Search behaviors. The role supports over 20 DX businesses, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, and more. Collaboration across various Disney departments and external partners is essential for success. You will work closely with teams such as Planning, Yellow Shoes, CIMA, Marketing/Commercial Strategy, Public Affairs, and Public Relations, among others. There are also opportunities to collaborate with other Disney business units on specific initiatives. Responsibilities:Lead DX Experiences Social, Disney Consumer Products Social, and Affiliate/Influencer Marketing efforts. Oversee large media budgets and organic strategies to maximize ROI. Co-develop and lead approaches for Social Search in paid and organic spaces. Serve as an expert on paid and organic social strategies, including influencer marketing, community management, affiliate programs, and AI opportunities. Build strong partnerships within DX and across Disney, including platform and technology vision. Manage relationships with social media partners and platforms, including cross-LOB deals. Define organizational vision for mastering paid and organic social media. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams and future leaders. Ensure the team incorporates current social media trends and data-driven decision-making. Leverage social media to connect with cultural moments and enhance Disney’s cultural relevance. Qualifications:12+ years of digital marketing experience. Expertise in paid social, organic social, affiliate, community management, and influencer marketing. Strong leadership and team management skills. Experience with cutting-edge social media approaches. Cross-channel digital media expertise beyond social media. Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across complex organizational structures. Education:Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience. Degrees in Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Analytics, or Statistics are a plus.
