Data Strategy & Advisory Leader (Managing Principal)

Remote, USA Full-time
Build strategies. Shape change. Lead enterprise data transformation. The Role We are seeking a visionary Data Strategy & Advisory Leader at Managing Principal level to shape the future of data in financial services. You will lead the design, delivery, and scaling of enterprise-wide data strategies for tier-one banks, insurers, and investment firms — helping them unlock the value of their data and meet the demands of an ever-evolving regulatory and digital landscape. This is not just about advising — it’s about owning the transformation agenda: defining innovative propositions, leading complex consulting engagements, inspiring cross-disciplinary teams, and driving commercial growth. You’ll be at the forefront of modern data strategy, governance, analytics, and AI adoption, while mentoring the next generation of data leaders. What You’ll Do Design and operationalise enterprise data strategies that enable business transformation across banking, insurance, and investment sectors. Lead high-impact consulting engagements in data governance, literacy, quality, regulatory response, and analytics-driven decision-making. Shape new market propositions in data consulting, including the adoption of AI, advanced analytics, and cloud-based data platforms. Drive process modernisation — from business analysis to technical design, solution implementation, and long-term optimisation. Build trusted senior stakeholder relationships, influencing strategic decisions and securing follow-on mandates. Scale data capabilities across internal teams and client organisations, ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes. Contribute to thought leadership, industry events, and internal innovation initiatives. What We’re Looking For 8+ years of senior-level consulting experience in financial services, with a strong data strategy and advisory focus. Proven expertise across the full data lifecycle, supported by frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK, DCAM, or CDMC. Deep understanding of enterprise data transformation and practical experience in implementing modern data management solutions. Experience in business development — from proposition design to pipeline growth and client relationship management. Hands-on involvement in agile consulting projects, and the ability to navigate complex analytical challenges with ease. Strong communication and influencing skills across senior business and technical stakeholders. Bonus Points For Familiarity with data regulations such as BCBS 239, CCAR, Solvency II. Working knowledge of SQL, Python, and related data analytics methods and tools. Experience applying AI solutions in financial services. Formal certifications in data governance, architecture, or strategy. Background in leading large, multi-disciplinary delivery teams. Why Join Us Deliver high-impact, transformational data strategies for leading financial institutions. Work in a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your ideas shape the future. Access continuous learning, training, and industry certifications. Influence not only client outcomes but also the strategic direction of our data practice. Be part of a team that’s redefining the future of digital financial services. Capco’s #BeYourselfAtWork culture means we celebrate individuality and work in an environment where diverse perspectives truly drive results. If you’re ready to lead transformation, challenge the status quo, and leave a lasting impact on the financial services data landscape, we’d like to hear from you. Apply to this Job
