Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead the accounting function for our multi-location business. This key leadership role will oversee bookkeeping and accounting staff across 10+ branches, ensuring accurate financial reporting, process efficiency, compliance, and cash management. The ideal candidate will have expertise in QuickBooks, Zoho, and other leading software solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as experience implementing new IT systems, managing acquisitions, integrating financial systems post-acquisition. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Leadership: · Oversee the daily accounting function and lead the monthly close process, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable/payable, and financial reporting for 10+ branches. · Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. · Work with local branch managers on customer invoice process and manage accounts receivable. · Enable strong inventory visibility for local and senior leaders through systems and processes. Financial Reporting & Planning: · Prepare and present comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages including all 3 statements. · Maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast and manage working capital to ensure financial stability. · Provide insights into financial performance including budget variance to support strategic decision-making. · Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. System Management, Implementation & Process Improvement: · Oversee architecture of accounting software to maintain accurate records and streamline processes. · Own payment processing relationship and any secondary financial IT systems. · Evaluate and implement new IT systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability. · Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that align with company goals. Compliance, Governance, & Cash Management: · Prepare account reconciliations and verify records are kept to accounting standards. · File monthly sales tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulation, and internal policies. · Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. · Oversee company bank accounts and manage cash balances. Acquisition Management: · Integrate acquired businesses into the existing financial systems, ensuring seamless transitions. Qualifications Based on Your Background: · Entrepreneurial Spirit: A motivated self-starter with a passion for driving results and growing the business. · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred. · 7+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a controller or equivalent leadership role. · Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). · Experience in financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting. · Proven expertise with QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Net Suite or other leading financial software for small and medium-sized businesses. · Knowledge of new software implementation best practices and project management. · Experience with multi-location operations and managing distributed teams. · Expertise with inventory management systems and developing policies and procedures. · Background working on acquisitions, including leading financial integration. · Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. · Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate teams. · Power user of the Microsoft productivity suite (Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.). Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): · Experience working for private equity or venture capital owned companies. · Background in service management, retail, or hospitality. · Prior utilization of service industry operational software for billing.
