Cloud Edge Operations Manager

We are seeking a strong leader in Ireland to drive cloud infrastructure implementations, oversee continuous cloud service operations, serve as the primary contact for production issue escalations and resolutions, and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards. Build and expand the Cloud Operations team at Extreme’s Ireland office. 2. Lead cloud infrastructure implementation and optimization across AWS, GCP, and Azure for reliability, security, and scalability. 3. Manage and optimize middleware services, including PostgreSQL, Ignite, Redis, Elasticsearch, Flink, ClickHouseDB, RabbitMQ, and Kafka. 4. Serve as the primary escalation point for production issues during EU daytime hours, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis. 5. Resolve customer-reported issues and production incidents in collaboration with Support, Development, and QA teams. 6. Provide technical leadership on cloud infrastructure design, performance tuning, and operational improvements. 7. Ensure production operations meet security and compliance standards (ISO 27001, 27017, 27701, SOC 2, StateRAMP, FedRAMP). 8. Review new service designs and deployments to ensure security and compliance before production rollout. 9. Work with remote teams in the US, Canada, China, and India to deliver continuous 24x7 cloud service operations. 10. Scale the Cloud Operations team by developing domain experts and future leaders. 11. Analyze service performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute improvement plans. 12. Improve service availability, scalability, and monitoring through automation, tooling, and process enhancements. 13. Foster cross-regional collaboration to maintain operational excellence across time zones. RequirementsQualifications: 1. BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred. 2. 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role and 5+ years of experience in a manager role. 3. An ability to drive to big picture goals while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail. 4. Experience architecting infrastructure for highly available, highly scalable cloud services. 5. Hands-on experience with AWS or any public cloud (Azure, GCP etc). 6. Knowledge of Linux, security, and networking fundamentals. 7. Working knowledge of container-based architecture and deployment (Docker, Kubernetes.) 8. Working knowledge of deployment automation development (Ansible, Terraform, Helm). 9. Experience in diagnosing and resolving complex application problems. 10. Working knowledge of Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, Redis, Ignite and RabbitMQ. 11. Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Kibana, Prometheus) 12. Experience with cloud security and compliance implementation. 13. Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work, both personally and at a team level. 14. Comfortable working within a distributed team located in multiple time zones.
