Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Building Nurse to provide essential health services to students at Oakland Education Center. As a Building Nurse, you will be responsible for administering medications, providing first aid services, maintaining health records, and performing other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Student Health Services: Provide routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering medications, providing first aid services, and managing health records. Health Education: Collaborate with teachers and other education professionals to develop and implement health education programs that promote healthy habits and lifestyles. Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination. Health Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, including student medical histories, immunization records, and medication administration records. Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support as needed. Collaboration: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other support staff to identify and address student health needs. Requirements: Education: High school diploma required; graduate of an accredited school of professional or practical nursing preferred. Licensure: Current Minnesota RN or LPN licensure required. Certification: Certification in CPR and basic First Aid required. Experience: Previous experience in school nursing or a related field preferred. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with students, parents, and education professionals. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Health Records: Experience with electronic health record systems preferred. Health Education: Experience in health education and promotion preferred. Leadership: Experience in leadership or supervisory roles preferred.
