Skills • Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D) • Master’s or Doctorate degree from a university accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHA Certification • Manual dexterity to calibrate equipment • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and EMR systems • Ability to perform focused evaluations on all bodily systems • Strong professional communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and informed-care decision-making skills • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines while providing high-quality service Responsibilities • Administer and interpret a range of audiological tests, including puretone threshold testing, speech recognition testing, Stenger testing, acoustic immittance testing, and bone conduction testing • Prepare detailed reports, maintain the audiological suite, and manage materials and supplies • Thoroughly review order requests, medical history (including service records and previous exams), and provide well-supported medical opinions, including refuting previous opinions when necessary • Perform occasional removal of soft cerumen • Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and Medical Opinions (MOs) accurately and comprehensively through the Electronic Medical Records System (EMR) • Clearly explain the exam process to the veteran, confirming claimed conditions with empathy and respect • Complete and submit charts and exams within 24-48 hours of the appointment • Follow established protocols for behavioral health or medical emergencies • Demonstrate a commitment to serving veterans, including those with service animals, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment Qualifications • Prior experience in clinical settings is a plus • Prior VA or C&P experience is a bonus Education Requirements • Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D) • Master’s or Doctorate degree from a university accredited by ACAE, CAA, or ASHA Certification Education Requirements Credential Category • Doctor of Audiology Experience Requirements • Prior experience in clinical settings is preferred • Prior VA or C&P experience is a bonus Why work in Sacramento, CA Sacramento offers a rich blend of history, culture, and opportunity.
