ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

Caltrans is the State of California's transportation agency, focused on improving lives and communities through transportation. The Associate Accounting Analyst will perform complex analytical duties related to the Right of Way program, including analyzing reconciliations and reports, processing transactions, and enhancing business processes. Responsibilities Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Associate Accounting Analyst (AAA) performs the most complex and high-level analytical duties related to Right of Way program The AAA is responsible for analyzing and reviewing reconciliations, reports, supporting accounting documents, funds and coding information This role requires a broad understanding of Caltrans accounting procedures, programs, functions, multiple-fund types, State and Federal regulations and accounting & fiscal systems The AAA will process Excess Land transactions, Expenditure Adjustment and various types of Right of Way Capital Outlay payments Participate in activities with the Right of Way Program to enhance business process and working relationships with Headquarters and District staff The incumbent will act as a year end coordinator, perform internal control review and monthly Schedule III Reconciliation Review and sign claim schedules This role requires a high level of autonomy, analytical expertise and the ability to lead and train section staffs Provide coverage for the section during supervisor's absence Skills Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment If you are basing your eligibility on education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification Unofficial, original, or official sealed transcripts will be accepted and may be required upon appointment Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation that indicates the number of units and degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent Please submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial transcripts, and a completed State Application (STD 678) Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position Resume is required and must be included Degree and/or School Transcripts Cover letter is required Company Overview From scenic backroads to the busiest freeways, Caltrans keeps California moving.
